Pre-Cancerous Skin Lesions, Sun Damaged Skin and ALA–Photodynamic Therapy
At Kingston Laser & Cosmetic Clinic, patients with severe, sun damaged skin can now be treated with Photodynamic Therapy (PDT). Often sun damage leads to precancerous actinic keratoses (rough, red or brown spots), texture and tone changes, brown spots and blotchy pigmentation.
ALA-PDT is a treatment using Levulan®, a photosensitizing topical solution applied to the skin which is then activated by the Blu-U Light. The precancerous spots and other pigmented spots peel off leaving normal skin.
ALA-Photodynamic Therapy can treat:
- Pre-cancerous Actinic Keratoses
- Brown sun damage spots
- Rough textured skin and fine lines
